Plus de deux millions d'euros pour des projets éco-sociaux
En 2021, le fonds HAND IN HAND a dépassé la barre des deux millions d’euros de subventions accordées depuis sa création.
De Haïti aux Philippines, en passant par le Congo, en 2021, le fonds HAND IN HAND a soutenu 45 projets écologiques et sociaux pour un total de 217 600 euros. À travers ce fonds, la société Rapunzel Naturkost GmbH, pionnière du bio, et l’organisation de protection de l’environnement Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH) soutiennent des projets communs en Afrique, Amérique du Sud et Amérique centrale, et en Asie.
Les grands axes des projets acceptés récemment sont, dans le contexte du changement climatique, l’agriculture biologique dans les petites exploitations, l’apiculture, l’énergie solaire et les projets liés à l’eau. On trouve aussi des actions de formation pour les personnes marginalisées, l’instauration de systèmes de microcrédit et la promotion de la protection des espèces.
Le fonds HAND IN HAND créé en 1998 est une initiative conjointe de Rapunzel Naturkost et de l’organisation Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH). Il est issu du programme de commerce équitable HAND IN HAND du pionnier de l’alimentation biologique qui est aujourd’hui encore le principal financeur.
Le fonds HAND IN HAND est maintenant actif depuis de plus 20 ans. Depuis sa création, plus de 2 millions d’euros ont financé 468 projets dans 64 pays.
Des projets plein d'espoir
Résilience climatique : une agriculture écologique durable au niveau des communautés, Malawi
Pour la majorité des gens au Malawi, les petites exploitations agricoles sont indispensables pour leur consommation personnelle. Mais leur existence est menacée par des phénomènes météorologiques extrêmes dus au changement climatique et par la dépendance vis-à-vis des grands groupes internationaux de semenciers.
L’organisation non gouvernementale Youth for Environment and Sustainable Development (YSD) installe cinq fermes expérimentales à Mazdi (Malawi central) avec les membres des communautés. Une centaine de paysans et paysannes y bénéficient de formations en agriculture écologique. Le projet accorde une importance particulière aux méthodes en faveur d’une résilience climatique renforcée et aux semences traditionnelles de grande qualité. Le fonds HAND IN HAND y contribue à hauteur de 5 000 euros pour des actions de formation.
Forêt tropicale : l’apiculture crée des revenus et protège les écosystèmes, Bolivie
Pour lutter contre la surexploitation de la forêt tropicale, l’organisation italienne AVEPROBI soutient les apiculteurs et apicultrices des communautés agricoles indigènes du bassin amazonien. Les actions combinent création de revenus et protection des espèces et de la forêt. Le projet apicole fait en même temps partie d’un programme plus vaste qui soutient l’exploitation durable de la forêt et l’agriculture écologique. Le fonds HAND IN HAND finance des actions de formation et l’équipement apicole à hauteur de 5 000 euros.
Soutien aux femmes : accès à l’enseignement à distance pour les filles marginalisées, Népal
L’association Street Child Deutschland e.V. permet aux enfants des régions les plus pauvres du monde d’accéder à l’éducation.
Pour les filles de la communauté défavorisée Musahar au Népal, l’éducation est quasiment la seule possibilité d’échapper au travail forcé à vie. Pour permettre aux filles d’accéder à la scolarité malgré les conditions liées à la pandémie de la covid-19, l’ONG a conçu un modèle d’enseignement à distance simple et bon marché via Bluetooth. Les filles intègrent ensuite les écoles locales ou bénéficient d'aide pour entrer dans la vie active. Le fonds HAND IN HAND offre 5 000 euros pour la mise en œuvre du modèle.
